Bullying

Bullying is a big problem, but it is only a symptom. Saying that bullying is wrong hasn’t worked—and where do they turn to release their anger? I don’t support bullying as a way to express anger, but we must supply alternatives. It’s not healthy to keep it in, and Americans are already repressed enough in exploring and expressing their feelings.

I believe what everyone should do is stop judging others—stop disapproving of them and saying there is something wrong with them. There are more important things than if you wear glasses; if you’re overweight, short, or gay; if you wear offbrand clothing; if you’re a virgin; if you have a lisp; or if you’re inexperienced at something. There is no standard for humanity, despite ignorant old people saying there is and that everyone who strays from it is a bad person. Bullying is only a symptom. Let’s treat the cause.

Update: I found a quote that I believe describes bullying’s cause well.

The healthy man does not torture others – generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers.
